Patrick Mouratoglou Speaks Out About Jannik Sinner

Patrick Mouratoglou, an internationally renowned coach and former coach of Serena Williams, posted on his Instagram profile his picks for the best Wimbledon players, in his opinion. “Roger Federer is the greatest of all time. There’s a bit of a rivalry with Djokovic, but given his playing style, it’s definitely Federer.”
Currently, however, the best is Jannik Sinner: “Today I’m choosing Jannik. I think he’s been the most dominant on that surface over the past three years.” Among the women, Mouratoglou chose “Martina Navratilova and Serena Williams. “For playing style, I’d say Navratilova, and also for the number of titles. But given that Serena played at a much higher level, I’d say Serena.”
In August, Mouratoglou had elaborated on Sinner’s qualities, explaining why he is such a tough opponent. “Many people call him ‘Djokovic 2.0,’ and that makes perfect sense. His movement is incredible, his counterattacks are lethal, and he almost never makes mistakes,” he observed, adding that the Italian hits the ball very early, taking time away from his opponent.
According to the coach, only Alcaraz is capable of truly putting him in a bind: the Spaniard can play better tennis at his peak, but it’s difficult for him to sustain that level for an entire match, whereas Sinner “remains simply and perfectly consistent.”
