Walter Zenga commented on the first half of the Milan-Inter match on Sky Sport during halftime of the derby, with the Rossoneri leading 3-1. The former Nerazzurri goalkeeper focused primarily on two key moments: Inter’s big chance and the free-kick goal that allowed Amorim’s team to extend their lead.

Zenga first recalled the goal that made it 2-1, which came at a difficult moment for the Nerazzurri, emphasizing how Chivu’s team subsequently had a chance to even the score: “Bastoni managed to make it 2-1 at a difficult moment in the match. A Milan player gave it away, and then Inter missed two chances—first with Calhanoglu and then with Spence, on whom the goalkeeper made an incredible save. It was a shot right down the middle, but that was an incredible save: I’ve played in goal a few times myself. Soccer is so unpredictable that it could have gone to 2-2,” explained the former Inter goalkeeper.

Zenga then analyzed Josep Martinez’s positioning on Milan’s 3-1 goal, which came directly from a free kick. According to the former goalkeeper, the Spaniard could have positioned himself differently between the posts, even though the play isn’t easy to judge: “The goalkeeper isn’t really at fault, even if he starts a bit too far to the side, near the far post. If you look at this position from behind the goal, the ball doesn’t go in right at the post, but half a meter from it. It’s striking—the impression is that he dives from a position that’s too far away, or that as he’s diving, he realizes he won’t reach it and stops pushing himself forward.”
