Former Ducati rider explains his choice

After his year in MotoAmerica, where he finished the season in second place in the overall standings, former MotoGp and Ducati rider Danilo Petrucci has decided that he will race in the Superbike championship in 2023.

The Terni centaur, who last year raced the Grand Prix of Thailand on a Suzuki in the premier class, explained his choice in an interview with ‘GPOne.com’: “What pushed me toward Superbike was the fact that I haven’t raced there yet.”

“I had this opportunity with a very competitive bike, which I used this year, but on other tracks and with other tires. I was excited to try the bike at its best, because it’s the one that won the championship this year. I like riding motorcycles and if I have to choose, I choose the most competitive one. I thought about it a lot, it took me a long time to come to this decision,” continued Petrucci, who will ride the Ducati V4R in 2023.
