Cagliari, the latest idea for the defense is a former Milan man
The latest idea to bolster Ranieri’s defense
New coach Claudio Ranieri’s Cagliari is fresh off two consecutive victories and is looking to climb up the Serie B standings, where it currently occupies eighth position. To seek promotion to Serie A, the island’s management is intent on reinforcing the squad available to the former Roma and Leicester coach among others.
The last department for which they are reasoning about the possibility of market operations during the January session is the defense: in fact, the 23 goals conceded in 20 matches cannot fully satisfy Ranieri.
The latest option that has emerged for the red and blue team’s backroom is that of Gabriel Paletta: the former Milan defender, born in 1986, has just returned from a first part of the season at Monza where, however, he played only one game in the Coppa Italia, never making his debut in the league. Therefore, the naturalized Italian player could be the name that suits the Cagliari club.
