Tour de France 2024 in Italy

An unprecedented rendezvous for the Tour de France, the world’s most important cycling competition and one of the top three international sporting events, will kick off from Italy in 2024.

In Rome, at Palazzo Farnese, the headquarters of the French Embassy in Italy, the Protocol of Agreement was signed for the organization of the Grand Departure set for June 29, 2024, and the passage from Piedmont before landing in France after the three Italian stages.

The Protocol formally sanctions the collaboration between the organizers of Aso, Metropolitan City of Florence, Emilia-Romagna Region and Piedmont Region. It fixes the mutual commitments, the total investment – amounting to 6.5 million euros – and the path leading up to the Great Departure, up to the presentation of the welcoming point in Florence (June 26, 2024), the start of the first stage, from the Tuscan capital to Rimini (June 29), and the next two: Cesenatico-Bologna (June 30) and Piacenza-Turin (July 1).

Overall, more than 600 kilometers will be run in Italy, from Piazzale Michelangelo, the heart of Florence and the Italian Renaissance, to Turin, Italy’s first capital, through Emilia-Romagna and the Via Emilia, the ancient consular road that runs through it from Rimini to Piacenza.
