Lievin, Marcell Jacobs is only second
Marcell Jacobs finishes second in Lievin
It’s no more than second place for Marcell Jacobs in Lievin, the fifth gold seasonal stop of the World Indoor Tour. The Italian sprinter, reigning 100-meter champion at the Olympics, was edged out in the 60-meter final by Kenyan Ferdinand Omanyala, who triumphed with a time of 6″54 against Jacobs’ 6″57, the same time he recorded in his season debut in Lodz.
The fastest man in the world, less aggressive than usual and still a bit rusty, thus finished in second place, ahead of Ivorian Arthur Cissè (6″59), Slovak Jan Volko (6″66), and Estonian Karl Eric Nazarov (6″69).
