Federica Brignone feels accomplished: ‘Erased my weakness’
Federica Brignone: “On the podium of the Giant after 12 years? It was a dream then, now I know exactly what I’m doing.”
Federica Brignone rejoices over her silver medal in the Giant Slalom at the World Championships: “Mentally I was really charged up today and I made my weakness my strength. I was happy to be here and I’m glad I was able to put all my energy on the slope, from start to finish. I really scraped the barrel, but I’m glad I did it and got this result.”
“The fever? I am an athlete who always wants to work harder. If I don’t work as hard, I’m not happy. This time I was able to accept the situation. I was forced to stop, I accepted it, and I told myself that I would recharge for the race. And that’s how it went, and I’m really happy about that. I came back with my head 100 percent focused, and that was my strength.”
Azzurra feels fully aware of her strength: “To be on the podium again of a World Cup in giant slalom after 12 years gives me great joy. Today I know exactly what I am doing. Back then it was an opportunity to take, a dream, now instead I realize instantly and today was really nice,” the words to Fisi.
