F1 Ferrari: Vasseur changes everything in a key role
Ferrari’s team principal spoke during F1 practice in Bahrain
Second place for Carlos Sainz in the morning session of the first practice of the Formula 1 season. The Spaniard finished behind Max Verstappen and ahead of Alexander Albon’s Williams.
Non-indicative times but positive signs from the Prancing Horse, according to team principal Vasseur: “Everything is fine, after the excitement of the presentation we are at the operational stage and it is very good. The DNA of an F1 team is always the same, maybe here the motivations are more visible, but the programs are the same.”
“Sainz? He is a solid driver, he offers good sensations. The first roughing out of the car provided good sensations: it’s a preliminary stage, it counted to do some kilometers and it went well.”
Meanwhile, news comes from the race wall: Vasseur has decided to put young Ravin Jain, a British engineer of Indian origin, in charge of the team’s strategies. He will replace Inaki Rueda. Laurent Mekies is also changing roles: he will remain racing director but will have less weight in driver management.
