Marcell Jacobs, tour de force at Europeans started at dawn
The words of Marcell Jacobs
Marcell Jacobs’ long Saturday began at dawn in the best of ways.
The Olympic champion qualified for the semifinals of the 60 meters at the European Championships in Istanbul, Turkey, by running the fastest time ever in the batteries in 6″57.
“Today the batteries were held really early, but that’s how it is for everyone,” he told RaiSport. “These two weeks we managed to work well anyway, the goal was to get here and try to run as fast as I can and improve my season best. This morning started well, because I ‘fell’ at the start, I felt a little low and had to recover, but it’s okay. Today we will have two more rounds, it’s tough to do three in the same day. You have to save yourself a little bit.”
