Milan, Stefano Pioli’s future is no longer so clear
Defeat to Fiorentina put Pioli in trouble
A heavy defeat, in every sense of the word. Milan lost, deservedly, to Fiorentina, complicating its path to a place in the next Champions League. The Diavolo, now, is fourth in the standings, +3 behind Roma (awaiting the challenge with Juventus). Juventus who, should they get back their 15 penalty points, would be second in the standings with the Rossoneri virtually out of the top four places.
On Wednesday, Pioli’s team is expected to play a delicate away match at Tottenham. They will restart from the 1-0 win at the San Siro. Conquering the Champions League quarterfinals would take some pressure off the Rossoneri coach who, at the moment, is unsure of his future. There are goals to be won, without which his reappointment may not be so certain.
