Cesare Prandelli reveals Alberto Gilardino’s secret
Reached by TMW, Cesare Prandelli spoke about Dusan Vlahovic: “I am very sorry to read certain negative judgments. When you have a striker with his scoring qualities you have to look for him a lot. If we see, before the ball gets to him there are a lot of passes…I’ve always thought that he should be enhanced, his luck may be Chiesa’s 100% return and I’m very convinced of that. I’m sorry to say this, but his teammates should serve him more. He has shown that he knows how to score, in his twenties he scored fifty goals, others should understand that.”
Prandelli then spoke about Alberto Gilardino, who is doing well on the Genoa bench: “He has surprised everyone. At the base there is a great humility in knowing and asking. Every time we meet he asks me something, he likes to confront. When you are humble and have been a great footballer, even from a management point of view you can understand certain dynamics in the locker room. He took the team and suddenly they started to have a balance that they didn’t know before. The square is extraordinary, the people crazy. Gilardino is well deserving of a reappointment to the bench: in the end we are judged on results, no use getting around it.”
“I’m being a grandfather and a parent, trying to catch up with some old friends. The passion for soccer is always there, when I watch the matches I feel it, but I stick to everything I wrote in that farewell letter,” Prandelli concluded.
