Pole in Argentina, brother Alex’s thoughts on Marc Marquez
A great achievement, with an all-family dedication.
Alex Marquez took pole position at the Argentine Grand Prix, ahead of the other Ducatis of Marco Bezzecchi and Pecco Bagnaia. His warm thoughts, however, went to his brother Marc Marquez, who was absent in Termas de Rio Hondo due to the aftermath of the Portimao crash.
“My father and Marc had told me that I would be able to complete a great lap even on my own. And without committing stupidities,” Alex Marquez indeed said. “I am fast, now I have to be determined and convinced. I have to continue on this path.”
Compliments to the team also came from Alex Marquez: “There was not only me in Q2. So riding was not easy, in fact it was a bit stressful. However, the team did an incredible job, and taking the risk of the slicks paid off perfectly.”
Now the focus is on the Sprint Race. “I am extremely satisfied with what we have done so far. Now let’s see what will happen, if I have to be honest I say we don’t have the pace to win. However, we aim to stay in the top 6 or 7, and to do that will take a lot of concentration,” Alex Marquez concluded.
