There was no history at Camp Nou in the Copa del Rey return semifinal between Real and Barcelona. If in the first leg the Catalans had won 1-0 in the capital, this time they suffered the wrath of Carlo Ancelotti’s team, which overwhelmed them with a very heavy 4-0.
Having closed the first half ahead by the narrowest of margins, thanks to the goal scored at the end of the half by Vinicius Junior, the Whites ramped up the pace in the second half with a hat-trick by Ballon d’Or Karim Benzema (a goal on a penalty kick for the Frenchman), who thus took home another ball, less precious than the one they handed him in Paris but still important.
