Ferrari in pain, Charles Leclerc pinpoints the reason why
Charles Leclerc’s words
It certainly has not been an easy start to the season for Ferrari, which, with the exception of Baku, has struggled mightily in the remaining four GPs, not least in Miami where it did not go beyond fifth place with Carlos Sainz.
Charles Leclerc explained to ‘AS’ the Maranello team’s difficulties, singling out one reason in particular: “I talked about it with Carlos as well, the car lacks consistency, in the same corner I can go from a huge oversteer to an equally obvious understeer. In high-speed corners I had a lot of bounce, but it only happened in the race, not the rest of the weekend. The car turns out to be very sensitive to wind and we suffer a lot because of that. Compared to last year, Red Bull must have still found something more in the race in terms of performance, the Aston Martin is a very different car than the one that took to the track in 2022, and Mercedes already a year ago was stronger in the race than in qualifying. We have a lot of work to do.”
