Cagliari, Gianluca Lapadula MVP of Serie B.
Gianluca Lapadula will be awarded as the best player of Serie B 2022/2023. This was announced by the Lega di Serie B, which announced that the Cagliari striker will receive the award before the playoff against Venezia.
“A true dragon of Cagliari, Gianluca Lapadula has shown all his qualities in Serie BKT 2022/2023, proving to be a fundamental reference point for temperament and contribution to the team. Such characteristics have allowed the Italian-Peruvian striker to be named the
MVP of the season by journalists from the league’s official broadcasters.”
“Lapadula will be awarded on the occasion of Cagliari-Venice, a match valid for the preliminary round of the playoffs, during the pre-match ceremonial.”
“The numbers don’t lie: thanks to the 21 goals he scored in the regular season, topped by 4 assists and 32 chances created, Lapadula also won the prestigious Pablito Prize, an award named after the memory of Paolo Rossi and given to the league’s top scorer. The Rossoblù forward thus succeeds Massimo Coda,
last season’s MVP as well as top scorer.
The completeness of his technical background is also demonstrated by his header goals: he is, in fact, the footballer to have scored the most in this Serie BKT (7) and is in third place overall considering the top 5 European leagues and respective second divisions.”
“Further emphasizing his performance is his goal/minute ratio: one every 134′; moreover, since 2006/07 Gianluca Lapadula is one of five players to have scored more than 20 goals in two or more seasons in Serie B, along with Francesco Tavano (three), Matteo Ardemagni, Massimo Coda and Alfredo Donnarumma (two each).”
“The Rossoblù striker is also the footballer who has taken the most shots in this Serie B (100): of these, almost half were directed toward the goal (47). He then made 397 passes, completing 271 of them (over 68 percent), with 796 balls touched, 345 duels engaged in of which 146 were won (over 42 percent) and 26 dribbles attempted of which 11 were successfully completed (over 42 percent), a symptom of a constant presence in his team’s offensive maneuver.
