Formula E, historic success for Maserati
Maserati to first success in Formula E
It is a historic day for Maserati on Sunday, June 4. In race-2 of the ePrix of Indonesia in Jakarta, the 11th round of the 2023 Formula E World Championship, the Trident company was indeed able to celebrate its first success in the series dedicated to electric single-seaters, thanks to Maximilian Gunther.
The German driver won by just under 3 seconds ahead of Jake Dennis (Avalanche Andretti) and 18 seconds ahead of Mitch Evans (Jaguar), who completed the podium by finishing third. Sixth place for Pascal Wehrlein (Porsche), who confirmed his first position in the overall standings with one point ahead of Dennis himself (134 to 133) and six ahead of Nick Cassidy (Jaguar, 128 points), who was back from a disappointing weekend, (7th in race-1, 17th in race-2) that saw him lose the lead in the World Championship he had until Saturday morning.
