MotoGp, Ezpeleta rescues Marc Marquez: help on the way for Honda and Yamaha
Concessions are on the way for Honda and Yamaha to close the gap now evident from Ducati and other European motorcycle manufacturers. Dorna and MotoGp patron Carmelo Ezpeleta on Radio Catalunya was clear: “We are working to help not only Honda, but also Yamaha, another Japanese manufacturer, so that they can become competitive again more quickly. Dorna’s official position is that the concession system needs to be updated.”
Ezpeleta is not worried about possible opposition: “Honda and Yamaha have been very careful about the concessions regulations in the past, and this has been crucial for Ducati to be competitive and also for Suzuki to be competitive so quickly, and for KTM and Aprilia to officially enter the World Championship and be competitive… The other manufacturers will also understand that.”
Marc Marquez, one of the iconic men of the circus, is in big trouble: “To see any rider in this situation is worrying, and Marc is even more so. From the outside, it’s clear that Marc has not gone down a level. He started the year with some bad luck because of the accident in Portugal, but with all the will to do and absolute competitiveness in his personal performance. I think Marc is still at his usual level.”
