Serie B 2023-24: Venice-Palermo, the likely lineups
Venice-Palermo, the probable formations
It's a prestigious challenge, given the history of the two clubs, the one that will be staged at the 'Penzo' in the midweek round of Serie B: the host Venezia will in fact face Palermo, in a match that also for the values of the present è very important, since lagunari and rosanero occupy, respectively, the second and fifth position in the standings, spaced only by two points and with one game less played by the Sicilians.
Still undefeated in the league, Venezia has not yet managed to achieve two consecutive successes, alternating between a win and a draw since the first round: Paolo Vanoli trusts in the desire for redemption of Pohjanpalo, so far stopped at two goals scored, while Eugenio Corini hopes in a privateer Palermo, with Roberto Insigne, Matteo Brunori and Federico Di Francesco to lead the attack of a team that has just returned from the first defeat of the season against Cosenza.
Kickoff at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, referee Niccolò Baroni, 40, of the Florence section.
Probable lineups:
VENEZIA (4-3-3): Joronen; Zampano, Altare, Idzes, Sverko; Ellertsson, Tessmann, Busio; Johnsen, Pohjanpalo, Pierini. All. Vanoli;
PALERMO (4-3-3): Pigliacelli; Mateju, Lucioni, Ceccaroni, Lund; Gomes, Stulac, Segre; Insigne, Brunori, Di Francesco. All. Corini.
