Adrian Mutu exonerated
Adrian Mutu, the former Fiorentina, Inter, Juventus, Parma, Cesena and Verona striker, è was exonerated while in Romania for his mother’s funeral. The player, Romania's top scorer in Serie A history with 103 goals, was leading Neftci Baku, one of Azerbaijan's top teams, and had just won 2-0 against Kepaz.
The club issued a statement thanking Mutu for his cooperation and hard work and wishing him every success in the future. At the same time, Neftci Baku expresses its deepest condolences on the death of the former player's mother.
Currently, the team is in third place in the standings, 13 points behind the top spot occupied by Qarabag. Mutu, 44, had been signed by Neftci Baku in the summer, under the enthusiastic eyes of the fans. The club’s bench è was entrusted to Montenegrin Miodrag Bojovic.
