Descent cancelled: Marco Odermatt wins fourth cup and equals Maier

It's skipped the last downhill of the men's Alpine Ski World Cup. Weather conditions and the snow that fell on the “Ulli Maier” slope in Saalbach-Hinterglemm made it complicated to fix the slope. The organizers after a series of postponements decided to cancel even the last downhill of the season: there were not even the indispensable safety conditions.

Marco Odermatt thus won the Downhill Cup with 552 points, ahead of Sarrazin with 510. In third place remains Dominik Paris with 342 points.

The Swiss skier è the first athlete to win four World Cups in a single season since Hermann Maier, now 23 years ago. Odermatt in addition to the victory in the overall standings has won the specialty cup; in the giant slalom, Super-G and now also the downhill.

The men&#39s season thus ends with yet another race skipped due to bad weather that made it impossible to guarantee minimum safety conditions on the slope.
