Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer gave a lengthy interview to Corriere della Sera, in which he reviewed his first year in the Nerazzurri culminating with the winning of the Scudetto but also marked by the painful elimination from the Champions League.

The 35-year-old Swiss also dismisses market rumors that want for the goal of the newly crowned champions of Italy the arrival of Brazilian Bento, ten years younger than him, and launches the challenge to Gigi Buffon and to a record set by the goalkeeper who won almost everything with Juventus. "When I arrived at Inter, I was struck by the fact that everyone knew each other well on the field: the distances, the mechanisms, the compactness were already very good. I am lucky to have such a strong defense. Inzaghi asked me a lot of work with my feet, but it takes some time to refine the construction from behind: in Bayern I didn&#39t do it in time, but here after a few months things were already in place". 

"I am honest: I never thought that the Scudetto celebration could be so incredible. È it was a long day, but to see the happy faces of the people in the crowd, the children, the families, all the different humanity; united by cheering, è it was special. We had to give something back to these people who follow us all year round. The’exit from Champions è was a great sorrow, but we learned once again how much the small details matter. And we will try to do better next year".

“Thuram maybe in the Bundesliga was not soì constant, but I knew he was a great player and could still grow a lot next to suchì strong teammates. He brought so much to the team and I am so happy for him. Calhanoglu? È very difficult to parry his penalties, because you always know where he kicks, but he has a very strong shot. It seems to me that in training he has only shot once against me, scoring a goal: he will try again, that è for sure". 

“Is Bento coming? I don&#39t know what will happen, I haven&#39t talked to the club yet and I don&#39t know if that&#39s really the idea. In the end, the club will decide; and we will talk about it. Gigi è has always been my idol when I was young. È a legend and it would also be a great achievement to equal his record of 21 clean sheets in Serie A. We will try as a team, becauseé it would not be a record only of the goalkeeper".
