Naples: in the chase for Gian Piero Gasperini there is a big fear
There'è a great concern in the chase for the possible new coach.
Calciomercato Napoli: Gian Piero Gasperini appears to be one of Aurelio De Laurentiis’ big targets for the Azzurri bench next season, after the problems he suffered in the one still in progress and which has seen Rudi Garcia, Walter Mazzarri and Francesco Calzona succeed each other over the months in the very complicated post-Scudetto championship. The mission to wrest from Atalanta its technician seems to be an uphill climb.
De Laurentiis himself had publicly admitted his liking for Gasperini’s job even before Atalanta secured the Europa League final by beating Olympique Marseille in Bergamo. The same European feat, however, according to the 'Corriere dello Sport' could further spoil Napoli's plans.
In its Saturday edition, in fact, the Roman newspaper reports the concern of the Napoli patron. In fact, De Laurentiis fears that the great attention Gasperini has attracted to himself after his successes in the Europa League could induce Antonio Percassi to speed up the renewal operations with Atalanta of the coach from Grugliasco.
Gasperini is part of a fairly dense list of potential coaches for the Napoli of tomorrow. Along with him remain the names of Vincenzo Italiano, Stefano Pioli and the "evergreen" Antonio Conte. Almost certain is the farewell of Calzona, contrary to an Atalanta that through the mouths of Percassi father and son confirmed just Thursday to believe in the permanence of the current coach at least for another season.
