Maurizio Sarri takes a pebble off his shoe
The coach’s words after Lazio’s success over Inter Milan
He could only be satisfied, Maurizio Sarri, at the end of an evening that saw his Lazio prevail over Inter and take, albeit virtually, first place in the standings.
At the microphones of ‘Dazn,’ the Tuscan coach took advantage of the space granted to him on live TV to take a pebble off his shoe: “These are results that last year we chased and did not get,” he said. “For me it’s more a mental issue, you can keep out even six or seven players in Europe and put them in on Sunday, but if the environment is tired the negative feelings infect everyone, from the technical staff to the warehouse workers, to the players. This year’s roster is wider, we will be able to make a few more changes.”
Sarri also spent a few words on Luis Alberto and his jubilation after the goal, scored after entering during the second half: “I usually don’t look at jubilation, but if he scores a goal like that everything is fine. Tonight he entered with a great determination, I’m glad he scored, it’s a satisfaction for him and for all of us.”
