Novak Djokovic shakes up U.S. politics
Novak Djokovic’s exclusion from the U.S. Open has triggered different reactions around the world. There are those who have applauded the decision of the U.S. government and the organization and those, on the other hand, who think the decision is wrong. Among the latter is Senator Ted Cruz who, upon re-sharing a post by the tennis player commented, “What idiocy.”
Djokovic had commented on the issue this way, “Unfortunately, this time I will not be able to go to New York for the US Open. Thanks to the NoleFam for all the messages of love and support. Good luck to my teammates! I will keep in good shape and with a positive spirit I will wait for an opportunity to compete again. See you soon tennis world!”
Rafa Nadal also wanted to have his say: “My point of view is that the fact that Nole is not here makes me sad. The fact that, because of injury or any other reason, the best cannot play is sad. In this case, one of the greatest in history is missing, so the loss to the tournament is important. That said, the U.S. Open continues, the world keeps turning and it will do so regardless of him or me.”
