Mats Wilander makes a prediction about Novak Djokovic

During a talk to the microphones of "SportKlub" former Swedish tennis player Mats Wilander, among other topics, analyzed Novak Djokovic's elimination in the third round of the US Open at the hands of Australian Alexei Popyrin. In addition, the coach also è dwelt on the continuation of the Serb’s career.

"It's amazing what Novak has done throughout his career. He's been able to win 24 Grand Slam titles without having that identifying trait in his tennis that Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal had, but è able to look invincible when he is well. Physically he does not age and mentally he looks smarter every day. I think he will continue to play and win at least two more Slam titles" began the former Swedish tennis player.

"I think the way he explained his feelings in the press conference was great. It's hard to compete on clay in the middle of the season and then get to the U.S. Open without having played practically ever on concrete" continued the 1964-born coach.

"Defeats like those with Popyrin remind us that he è a human being, too. Of course he would like to win everything, but he needs time to rest and prepare well. I am sure that he will come back; in his best form ahead of the season finale. We need to stop being surprised when he loses and appreciate the fact that a man of his age" continues to win big tournaments" Mats Wilander" commented.
