Jannik Sinner: Simone Vagnozzi is not surprised by Jack Draper
Jannik Sinner: Simone Vagnozzi è candid about Jack Draper
Speaking at the microphones of "Supertennis", Jannik Sinner's coach Simone Vagnozzi, among other topics, dwelt on the next opponent awaiting the South Tyrolean at the Us Open, namely Britain's Jack Draper.
"They are friends, Jack è a great guy, I know him personally. Lately he and Jannik have been playing doubles together. I am not surprised that he has come so far here at the Us Open becauseè we all know the potential that Draper has, we know that he has had some slowdowns because of different physical problems, but I am convinced that he is one of the most ready to break into the top 10. I expect a tough match and it will be very different than the one with Medvedev. It will be a more rhythmic match, with maybe even better exchanges than with Medvedev. Sinner will have to be good especially at the beginning to manage the situation" began the coach of the South Tyrolean.
" Jannik è was very good, he interpreted the match very well tactically. Playing only rhythm against Medvedev would not have been the right choice, you had to put something different to make him think. What I è liked most about Sinner è was the attitude, which è always was positive. He lost some points with the bunt but he kept doing it, he lost some points in serve & volley but he didn't stop doing them, because they were the right things to do against a complicated opponent like Daniil" added the world number one's coach.
" It has been a complicated few months for Jannik, but he è has been good at staying on the ball and we have tried in every way to help him and get his smile back. Over the course of the tournament he found more and more peace of mind on the court and serenity; mentally and technically. Now è he is definitely inside the game, he has regained his positive energy and now we have to continue like this," commented Simone Vagnozzi.
