Novak Djokovic outspoken about the ATP Finals

Novak Djokovic did not mince words ahead of the ATP Finals, scheduled for Nov. 10-17 in Turin, Italy. The Serbian outfielder, the defending champion and seven-time winner of the competition, at the moment does not è qualify for the tournament among the best eight tennis players of the year, as he occupies the ninth position in the Race with 3260 points, behind Australia's Alex De Minaur, at 3305.

"The Turin Finals are not a goal of mine,” Nole admitted, in the words reported by Gazzetta dello Sport. “I am not chasing the Atp Finals, I am not chasing the ranking. As far as I am concerned, I am done with those tournaments for my career. My main priorities are to play for my national team and Slams. I have won everything, I am 37 years old, inevitably something è changed".

"Usually in my career I used to plan everything six months in advance, but nowadays it’s not like that anymore, now it’s more spontaneous,” added the fresh Olympic champion in Paris. “I need to rest physically, emotionally and mentally to start thinking about what I want to do next, in what way, when and where. To prolong my career, I need to have fun, I need to choose wisely the tournaments I will play ".

However, Djokovic confirmed his presence at the Shanghai Masters 1000, scheduled for Oct. 2-13, without giving any further indication of his future schedule.
