Perugia wins Super Cup, Trento knocked out

In the unprecedented Final of Palazzo Wanny in Florence, Sir Susa Vim Perugia beats Itas Trentino and conquers the 29th Del Monte Supercoppa, the third consecutive after Cagliari and Biella, the sixth for the club of president Gino Sirci, which thus begins the season as it had ended the last one, that is, with a success.

Gabi Garcia’s 24 points and 18 point walls were not enough for Trento to unhinge the strength of the Perugini, who had in Ishikawa, awarded Del Monte MVP of the Final by Massimo Righi, President of the Volleyball League, a fundamental factor for the comeback.

Fans from Umbria and Trentino packed the Tuscan palasport (3800 spectators and sold out) and followed with participation the stages of a match that turned out to be a real spectacle for volleyball lovers. Also present today at Palazzo Wanny were members of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation, a new charity partner of the Lega Pallavolo Serie A, a foundation whose mission is to  ensure a concrete commitment to the new generations with a program aimed at young people between the ages of 16 and 25 for personal growth and talent development.
