Now è official: Wojciech Szczesny is not retiring and signing for Barcelona. The Polish fullback will replace Marc-André ter Stegen until the end of the season.

"Barcelona and Wojciech Szczesny have reached an agreement for the goalkeeper's arrival at the club until June 30, 2025. The Polish goalkeeper arrives under unusual circumstances, but there is no doubt that his resume speaks for itself. Throughout his career, which seemed to have come to an end in the summer, he has played for top clubs such as Arsenal, Roma and Juventus since leaving his hometown of Warsaw at the age of 16" this is the statement issued by the Catalan club.

"I am really proud to be a Barcelona player. Visca el Barça! È a proud moment for me. Honestly, I was ready to retire. I was happy, but in the two days I spent in the city, the way the people treated me and how important the club is to them, I feel proud to be part of this. The Barça è a great institution and for me this è something very important. That's why I decided to extend my career a little longer" began the former Juventus goalkeeper to the club's official channels.

"Robert Lewandowski è has been instrumental. È he was the first person who thought of me and called me to ask about the possibility of returning to play. Initially, I did not know if I was ready for new professional challenges, but I talked to my family and friends and they all told me that it would be stupid not to accept this opportunityà" added the Polish fullback.

"Barça has a great social base and in a very short time I could see the passion of its fans. I was at the stadium yesterday and the team looks incredible to me. È an exciting challenge for me that I face with energy and enthusiasm. I am ready to work” commented Wojciech Szczesny.
