Samuele Ricci, big names knock on Torino’s door
Samuele Ricci in the sights of the big
Samuele Ricci's excellent start to the season certainly hasn't gone unnoticed in the eyes of the big names in Italy and Europe. In addition to the Italian candidates, Milan and Napoli above all, the door of Torino would have knocked also Manchester City, which would have thought of the native of Pontedera to replace, from January, the injured Rodri, forced to a long stop due to the ligament injury in his right knee.
The reopening of the market is three months away, but the Citizens are trying to play d'advance: as reported by the 'Guardian', in fact, emissaries of the Mancunian club will be present at San Siro on Saturday night for Inter-Torino precisely to evaluate the test of Ricci, who will be opposed to another player for whom City has expressed interest in recent months, Nicolò Barella.
Ricci’s current valuation exceeds 20 million euros, a significant figure when compared to the 8.5 spent by Torino to buy him from Empoli in 2022. The Granata management may, however, decide to resist January assaults, to see if the player’s economic value can rise further until next June.
In the meantime, forò, Ricci thinks only of the field: since the beginning of the preparation, the 23-year-old has missed only one match, the first summer friendly against Virtus Verona played last July 20: since then è he has been always present, very often for 90 minutes, confirming himself as one of the main pawns of Paolo Vanoli’s tactical chessboard.
