Asiago’s overwhelming supremacy in Bolzano in the Grand Classic.

The Great Classic has an absolute master.

Migross Supermarkets Asiago Hockey scores a crushing victory with an impressive 8-2 win over Bolzano, earning its first win of the season right in the Grand Classic and reaching the pre-playoff zone.

The first period at the Sparkasse Arena è was very intense, with both teams going at each other very aggressively from the first minutes. In the second minute McClure hit the post, followed by Frigo hitting the crossbar a minute later. Soon after, Ierullo tested Harvey, who però responded promptly. È it was Bolzano who unlocked the result with Finoro, who deflected a Salinitri pass behind Cowley. Asiago equalized on 5' in numerical superiority with a precise shot by Gazzola, assisted by Saracino. However, on 9', Gazley took advantage of an Asiago defensive distraction to score 2-1. Again, however, Asiago responded promptly, bringing the score back to even, thanks to Saracino, who took advantage of a loose puck in front of the goal. The first half è ended 2-2.

In the second period, Asiago took control of the match, taking the lead after just 90 seconds thanks to Turnbull. On 5', Gazzola scored his second personal goal, taking advantage of a pass from Gennaro, bringing the score to 2-4. Bolzano tried to fight back, but Cowley stopped all the hosts’ initiatives. Asiago stretched it further at 11'11' with a goal by Ierullo, while at 18' Porco scored 2-6 with a classy individual play.

In the third period, Bolzano tried to get back into the game with Helewka, but Cowley neutralized the chance. Asiago then stretched it even further with Turnbull, who completed his hat trick with two powerplay goals, the first on an assist from Ierullo and the second with a deflection on a shot from Gazzola’s distance. Bolzano è no longer managed to react, and the game è ended quickly, with Asiago defending perfectly in numerical inferiority situations.
