Early return for Filippo Della Vite from the men’s World Cup giant slalom team’s meet, which is preparing for the season opener in Soelden, scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 27.
The 23-year-old policeman from Bergamo, who was engaged in the third day of training on the Austrian glacier, took a’board and finished his run into the nets, causing a decomposed fracture of the thumb of his right hand and a small cut on his right leg, already sutured with three stitches.
Della Vite is returning to Italy in these hours and already on the morning of Tuesday, October 15, he will be operated at the La Madonnina clinic in Milan by the FISI Medical Commission chaired by Dr. Andrea Panzeri.
At the end of the’operation the recovery time will be determined, including his possible participation in the Soelden race.
