Club World Cup, the Italians will be two

In less than two months, the 19th edition of the Club World Championship, the FIVB-organized Club World Championship that will bring together eight elite clubs from around the world, representing the best in men’s club volleyball, at the Sabiazinho Arena in Uberlandia, Brazil, from December 10-15, 2024.

Two Italian teams will take part: Itas Trentino, by virtue of its victory in the last edition of the CEV Champions League, and Cucine Lube Civitanova, which qualified for the event as the best semifinalist, according to CEV rankings, to replace the Polish lineup of Jastrzebski Wegiel (finalist), which did not confirm its participation. Composition of the rounds and schedule of matches will be announced in the coming days. The event will be viewable live on VBTV and DAZN.

The’last edition in Brazil of the Club World Cup was in 2022, when Betim hosted, on that occasion, the 17th edition of the’event. The current defending champions, winners last season and also in the previous season, are the players of Sir Sicoma Perugia.

These are the participating teams and the qualification criteria

Itas Trentino (ITA) – winner team of the CEV Champions League 2023/24

Cucine Lube Civitanova (ITA) – replacing the runner-up of the CEV Champions League 2023/24

Sada Cruzeiro (BRA) – winning team of the CSV Club Championship 2023/24

Ciudad Voley (ARG) – runner-up team of the CSV Club Championship 2023/24

Iranian Foolad Sirjan (IRI) – winning team of the AVC Club Championship 2023/24

Shahdab Yazd (IRI) – runner-up team of AVC Club Championship 2023/24

Al Ahly SC (EGY) – winning team of CAVB Club Championship 2023/24

Praia Clube (BRA) – host club
