Uncertain future

Virgil van Dijk’s future at Liverpool remains uncertain:è it became a sensitive issue well before last summer. The Reds’ Dutch captain and defender currently has a contract expiring in June 2025: there are a few months to define his future. Without a new deal, the 33-year-old would turn into a highly coveted parameter zero.

"Negotiations are ongoing, we will see what will happen,‖ Van Dijk told the BBC. My concentration è all on Liverpool, I just want to win the games ahead. I don’t know yet what the future holds, but I can confirm that discussions have started and we will see how it goes.

Van Dijk è was bought from Southampton for 75 million pounds and has since contributed to numerous victories: with him on the field, the Reds have put the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup and Fifa Club World Cup in their trophy cabinet.
