The 2024-2025 season could not have started better for Federica Brignone. The skier from Valle d’Aosta, in fact, triumphed in the first Giant Slalom in Soelden, gaining her 28th career success in the World Cup. Speaking to the official channels of the "FISI", the Italian athlete did not hide her amazement at the result.

"It's been something unexpected for me, because I struggled a lot at the beginning of the wall. In the second part I gained confidence, tried to ski my way and it è came out well. I am very proud do what I did, but I never expected to finish first in the first official race of the second season" began the Italian skier.

"Today I am stronger in my head than nine years ago when I won here for the first time. I can control my emotions much better now. I was able to do everything well and ski the way I wanted to. Working è important, I follow every detail and continuously try to improve myself. Last week I was feeling a lot of pressure because I had been skiing well all summer, then I took it off and everything è went well" added the Milan native.

"I was calm in the second run, I was very alert, I did well on some passes. Maybe I held a little bit’ too much in the first part and I didn’t think I was ahead of Alice Robinson. I really had a good time. Last year I didn’t expect to be first in the middle of the race and I paid for it. Generally, I suffer a lot in the first race. Today was completely different; I was really more serene. I have performance goals for the season, I won’t be thinking about wins, records or Cups. We will see stage by stage how it will go" concluded Federica Brignone.
