Jannik Sinner, organizers provide clarity
Jannik Sinner’s Forfeit
Cedric Pioline, the organizer of the Paris-Bercy tournament, spoke about Jannik Sinner's forfeit from the last Masters 1000 of the season due to a form of flu.
"I was able to speak with Jannik who è came to see me very kindly, è was disappointed by the withdrawal – said the tournament director – Friday; è came with intentions to play his best tennis, we can say he did his best".
"He had been informing me for a few days about his stomach problem. I was pessimistic, we know that after a gastrointeritis you come out tired and sometimes lose weight. Time was short to recover, as number 1 you come to win and not to play a few games“.
Quip about the rich performance in Arabia: “There are the geopolitics of the circuit and discussions at Slam, ATP and WTA level about consolidations, reorganizations. Today nothing è has been decided, è of course from my point of view we have to be vigilant so that there is consistency with the money put on the table in this Saudi exhibition. Something that è disruptive and destabilizes the ecosystem in place and that è not necessarily super healthy".
