Paraguay surprises Argentina, disappoints Brazil
Poker of Ecuador against Bolivia
Lots of emotions in the matches valid for the World Cup qualifiers in South America. Brazil doesn't go beyond 1-1 in the challenge with Venezuela. The Greenoros took the lead through Raphinha but were caught up by Segovia. Vinicius, the Real Madrid ace, has a chance to put Seleçao back in the lead but misses a penalty. Brazil remains third in the overall standings.
Argentina also chews bitterly as it is beaten, in a comeback, by Paraguay (2-1 the final). There'è Messi on the field. The Albiceleste unlocked the score with Lautaro Martinez at 11'11'. For the Nerazzurri captain it is goal number 31 with the national team (joined, in second place All Time, by Higuain and Di Maria).
Paraguay doesn't go for it and grabs the equalizer with a splendid backhand by Sanabria. Argentina failed to be fluid and, in the end, Paraguay took the lead with Alderete’s goal that turned out to be decisive for a really valuable victory for the Paraguayan national team. Third defeat, out of 11 matches, for the Albiceleste in the round valid for qualification for the next World Cup.
Everything easy, finally, for Ecuador, which got rid of Bolivia with a dry 4-0. Great proof of the class of 2003 Minda, author of a double. The Tricolor dominated far and wide with as many as 17 shots in the Bolivian goal mirror (against only one by the opponents).
