Fritz in the final

A somewhat surprise win in Turin for Taylor Fritz, the first finalist of the 2024 ATP Finals. He's the first U.S. player to make it since 2006 (the last was James Blake).

In fact, the world No. 5 won the first semifinal match of the day against Alexander Zverev, the eve’s favorite and veteran of a dominated qualifying round.

The score of 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(3) speaks volumes about the match's balance, in which there were very few breaks and service turns often proved decisive.

In the final, Fritz, already a finalist at the last Us Open (where he eliminated Zverev, among others), will challenge one of Sinner and Ruud, on court tonight in the second semifinal.
