Sbk Magny-Cours, Alvaro Bautista and Ducati exult twice
Perfect Saturday for Bautista
It could not have gone better, to Alvaro Bautista, race-1 of the French Round of Superbike 2022 at the Magny-Cours circuit. Indeed, the Spanish rider won the first of the weekend’s two races (three, if you count the Superpole Race) made a decidedly important leap in the standings, thanks to the misadventures of direct rivals Jonathan Rea and Toprak Razgatioglu. Double celebration, in short, as much for Bautista as for the Borgo Panigale manufacturer.
Bautista preceded, at the finish line, Scott Redding (BMW) and the Italian Axel Bassani (Ducati), excellent third. Rea and Razgatioglu, on the other hand, slipped in the early stages of the race: despite managing to recover the bike, the Briton did not go beyond last place while the Turk, despite a good comeback, finished in eleventh position.
In the standings, therefore, Bautista flies to 323 points, 56 more than Rea and 58 more than Razgatioglu.
