Fiorentina, touching letter from Edoardo Bove: "See you back on the field"
Edoardo Bove breaks his silence three days after being discharged from Careggi Hospital in Florence and 16 days after falling ill during the match against Inter. The Fiorentina midfielder, who è was implanted with a subcutaneous defibrillator, posted a letter on social media in which he thanked everyone and expressed his great determination to return to the field as soon as possible.
"Hello everyone, in these difficult days I have been thinking a lot. Although sharing on social media is not in my nature, I would like to externalize a thought that has struck me deeply. The unpleasant episode that occurred during Fiorentina-Inter, showed me, even more than I thought, that soccer è much more than a match, a championship, or a career".
"Soccer è a communityè of people, bound by the same passion, sharing moments of joy, emotion, anger, disappointment and suffering. It is precisely in these moments that I realize how genuine this sport is, how, beyond results, competition or competition we are all united. United by a bond that a fortiori, once created, strengthens in times of difficulty, becoming almost indissoluble. A bond that gives you love and emotions that are hard to explain. A bond that gives you the strength to overcome any obstacle".
"I am talking about it becauseé I have experienced it on my skin in these days: The’affection I received, the warmth of the fans, the support from teammates and opponents, the closeness of the ENTIRE world of soccer è was something that gave me incredible strength and courage. I felt surrounded by a’positive energy that allowed me to remain calm, not to feel the loneliness that is often è present in this kind of difficulty. For this reason, I would like us all to strive not to forget the true essence of our sport, not to be overshadowed by its commercial side and not to take its authentic spirit for granted. Becauseé in spite of everything, what è happened on Sunday è is a testimony to the genuine part of soccer: the part that feeds on true emotions, personal stories and a strong bond between those who play and those who cheer".
"That said, I am truly grateful to belong to this world and thank you from the bottom of my heart for the’affection and closeness you have shown me! I am well and this è the most important thing! See you soon… In the Field!".
