Pecco Bagnaia behind Alex Marquez in pre-qualifying at Jerez

Despite another fall after the one in the morning free practice session that kept him in the pits for a long time for examinations on any physical damage sustained, Alex Marquez was also the fastest in the pre-qualifying for the MotoGP class Spanish Grand Prix but behind him is Francesco Bagnaia.
At the Jerez de la Frontera circuit, the Spaniard on his Team Gresini Ducati lapped in 1’35″991 ahead of the 2022 and 2023 premier class world champion by 103 thousandths. Third at 162 thousandths was Franco Morbidelli on the Ducati VR46 and fourth at 267 thousandths was Marc Marquez, Pecco’s teammate in the official Ducati team and world championship leader.
Accessing directly to tomorrow’s Q2 are also, in order: fifth Yamaha’s Frenchman Fabio Quartararo, who also crashed in this session, sixth Spaniard Fermin Aldeguer, Alex Marquez’s teammate, seventh Honda LCR Castrol’s Frenchman Johann Zarco, eighth KTM Red Bull’s Spaniard Pedro Acosta, ninth Morbidelli’s teammate Fabio Di Giannantonio, and tenth Official Honda’s Spaniard Joan Mir.
