After the knockout all’OT with Trapani, the Reyer Venezia will try to armor their playoff position at home against Pistoia, which is called to break a series of seven consecutive defeats to continue hoping for salvation. Speaking at a press conference, Orogranata head coach Neven Spahija wanted to keep the focus high ahead of the challenge with the Tuscans.

“The team is doing well. After the Trapani game, we worked intensively in the gym, analyzing the mistakes we made. We saw how strong Trapani is, especially at home, but we are aware of our mistakes, reminiscent of those made in Brescia, especially in the last three minutes on defense. However, I believe that today our team is playing a high level of basketball. We fight without ever giving up and this is part of our DNA” began the head coach of the Veneti.

“Now comes Pistoia, a team that is struggling to avoid relegation, but has a very serious coach and a team that plays without any pressure. They will come to play it to the end and these games are always very dangerous, but I am convinced that our team is mature to face this challenge with the right mentality and continue to play our basketball” added the Orogranata coach.

In addition to Neven Spahija, Davide Moretti also spoke at the press conference: “We are playing against a team that wants to finish the season in the best possible way, still the numbers do not condemn them. They will come here to honor the jersey, I know Pistoia, the club and the guys who play there: they will come here to play forty minutes of real game.

We have to stay focused and never let our guard down, especially on their strengths. In the last game we made a lot of mistakes in ball handling, against their pressure. In this we need to grow, in addition to continuing to play together”.
