Ligue 1 2024-2025: Strasbourg-PSG, the likely formations

A trip to Alsace for PSG, already winner of the French league, which will be able to afford a large turnover on Saturday against Strasbourg in Ligue 1 to avoid bitter surprises ahead of the return leg of the Champions League semifinal against Arsenal, scheduled for Wednesday at the Parc des Princes. Racing will try to use the situation to their advantage and stay in touch with the positions that qualify for the European cups.
Guided by England’s Liam Rosenior, Strasbourg is coming off a run of 11 consecutive useful results, with eight wins and three draws. They won their previous game against St. Etienne 3-1 and have an almost empty infirmary (the only injured player is Dion, out for some time with a ruptured Achilles tendon). The line-up is likely to be a 3-4-2-1, with Lamarechal and Nanasi supporting Emegha’s only forward.
On the other side will be numerous men resting for Luis Enrique, starting with goalkeeper Gigio Donnarumma, who will make way for Safonov. In the 4-3-3 proposed by the Asturian coach there will be room for Lucas Hernandez on the left flank, while the attacking trio should consist of Mbaye, Ramos and Barcola, neither of whom started against Arsenal last Tuesday.
Probable lineups:
STRASBOURG (3-4-2-1): Petrovic; Doukoure, Omobamidele, Sarr; Bakwa, Andrey Santos, Diarra, Barco; Lamarechal, Nanasi; Emegha. All. Rosenior.
PSG (4-3-3): Safonov; Zague, Beraldo, Pacho, Hernandez; Lee, Mayulu, Zaire-Emery; Mbaye, Ramos, Barcola. All. Luis Enrique.
