Frederic Vasseur apologizes to Ferrari fans

Frederic Vasseur hotly analyzed the disastrous Imola qualifying session to Sky microphones: “Without a doubt a very tough day for us. We did a copy-paste of what we saw in Miami. We did not improve with the new set of tires. We did better with the ones we used in the first attempt in Q2”.

“Why does this happen? If we knew I would say it. The situation is strange but I would say a little bit for everyone at the tire level. All we have to do is apologize to the fans.”

“In the first attempt of Q2 we were fifth and sixth using used tires. We mounted the new ones and did not progress. The others, however, filed down 3-4 tenths and passed us. What is the fault? I would say 50 percent potential of the car and 50 percent behavior of the tires. If we do everything right today we could have been fifth and sixth. The execution was lacking. We did not bring the car to its real value.”

“If I say we understood the car I would be stupid after what we saw today. Aston Martin? They did well on medium tires. We were fifth on used softs. We need to understand this aspect. Maybe we can make up even half a second.”
