Allianz Milan places first market blow: Fernando Kreling

Allianz Milano places the first market blow: Fernando “Cachopa” Kreling is the new setter of the Milanese club. After saying goodbye and thank you to Paolo Porro, the absolute protagonist of the last championships, here is who will step into the setter’s box from next October in coach Roberto Piazza’s team.
A class of 1996, Brazilian, already a protagonist in SuperLega with Vero Volleyball, where in 2022-2023 he won the Scudetto and Coppa Italia finals, Kreling thus moves from Monza to Milan to continue to enchant the great volleyball public. Charisma, tactical intelligence, brilliance, and a world-class palmarès built with Sada Cruzeiro and the greenoro national team make Fernando one of the best setters in the world, arguably the most spectacular in the business. He brings with him the 23 titles he won with Sada including three club world championships, with the national team he won the 2021 VNL and the 2019 World Cup, got the bronze medal in the 2022 World Cup.
“In these years I have seen Allianz Milano reach the Scudetto semifinals and the Italian Cup twice – said Kreling -. My goal is to play important matches, possibly a final, that’s why I am here. Then I have always esteemed coach Roberto Piazza, and it was my desire to be coached by him. I also think the company is very nice and organized. I esteem the president Lucio Fusaro and the diesse Fabio Lini. If you put these things together, they are all points that made me accept the offer from Milan”.
“Milan’s goals are also mine– added the Lombardi’s new acquisition.”
I talked with coach Piazza about the team for the next championship and there are players I like a lot. I already know some elements and I have talked with them. But especially with Piazza we compare ourselves on different aspects. I look forward to getting started and making many new friends”.
“To the fans first I want to say that I am looking forward to wearing the Allianz Milano jersey. They will see a team that will grow a lot over the course of the season. Next year’s will be another balanced championship in which anything can really happen in the Play Offs. In the recent past, the Biancorossa Curve, that’s its name right? It has already tasted the semifinals. My dream is to get to win a trophy in Italy and I will do everything to get there. I have a vivid memory of the Allianz Cloud, starting with the last derby played, with that first set that we in Monza lost 42-40 in an incredible atmosphere. It was a great night of our sport. It will be a new court for me, but I will immediately feel at home” Kreling concluded.
