The’former Spanish tennis player Alex Corretja in an interview with Eurosport spoke about the possible new coach of Jannik Sinner. The latest rumors have juxtaposed the Italian number one with Carlos Moya: although the person concerned has at the moment denied it, the rumors continue.

According to Corretja, the compatriot would be the right choice: “I think they have known each other very well for quite some time and he knows what he can bring to Jannik’s game, to his head, even at the level of understanding tennis. And considering that Alcaraz is probably his biggest rival right now, I think it makes sense to try to understand the Spaniard’s mentality and game. I think it is a good move for Jannik and I understand that for Carlos Moya it can be a step forward”.

Sinner is looking for a coach with the right identikit to try to improve his game: “Jannik always likes to play with the same pace and the same pattern. I think he can get to know and learn to do different things, even the dropshot on the forehand side that Moya used to do very well. I&#8217m looking forward to it because it will be very interesting”.

Corretja was very positive about Sinner&#8220s return to the court: “I was quite impressed because it takes time to get back into a rhythm. The positive aspect for him is that he has been able to train. He must have been working out a lot because when you are away for so long you can&#8217t play for five hours a day, but you can improve your physical condition to be stronger and more resilient on the court. And I think the way he was playing he showed that he was ready for the rest of the year’year”.
