Charles Leclerc has no illusions after Monte Carlo and puts his hands up

Charles Leclerc spoke during the media day in Barcelona: “In Monaco it went well, and in a difficult season like this you want to take every positive cue whenever possible, and Monaco was definitely a positive weekend for us. Unfortunately, here, the situation will most likely be very different.”

“I have been surprised since FP1 in Monaco. In previous years we always expected to be strong, and I honestly thought we would be slow”.

“I think this weekend has given us a better understanding of our car and maybe even its strength. I would be pleasantly surprised if something similar comes this weekend, but I think we will be back to normal, which means the situation we have been in since the beginning of the season, with a Saturday where we struggle and a better race”,.

“We also expect very hot weather. We have seen that with temperatures like that, McLaren tends to be very fast. Everything bodes for a more normal weekend for us”.
