Ferrari: Charles Leclerc believes, despite everything

Charles Leclerc believes, despite everything. In a Friday free practice session that at Ferrari’s home was heavily conditioned by the ferocious criticism of Lewis Hamilton and the consecutive retort of Frederic Vasseur, the Monegasque driver instead expressed optimism about the state of form of an SF-25 that was the protagonist in the morning and then found itself in the afternoon half a second behind the McLaren of Oscar Piastri. Yet, in turn, he had not been as conciliatory on the radio.
“We are going nowhere, tremendous feelings from the first to’last corner”, Leclerc had declared in a message to the Ferrari wall via team radio. Softer was his end-of-day reading: “It is very hot on the track, and that complicates everything. The fact is that we would like to have more grip, but to be honest today went better than expected”.
“Ferrari is performing better than I expected – continued Leclerc -. My hope is to be able to improve again for Saturday’s qualifying. We will work on that in the coming hours”.
“We still have to give ourselves a lot of work to really be as competitive as we would like. The’impression, though, is that we are not that far behind the leaders. We will spend the evening working on some key areas. We want to make the most of the potential of this Ferrari for Saturday” he assured Leclerc.
