This evening at 9 p.m. at the Allianz Arena in Munich the 70th final in the history of the former Champions Cup and now Champions League will be played between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan. The Parisians are in the second Champions League final in their history: on August 23, 2020, they lost the first one 1-0 in Lisbon against Bayern Munich.

The Nerazzurri, on the other hand, are in their seventh final in Europe’s most important club competition and are in the hunt for their fourth victory. On May 27, 1964, they beat Real Madrid 3-1 in Vienna, and on May 27, 1965, they did the encore at home in San Siro, 1-0 over Benfica. On May 25, 1967 they lose in Lisbon 2-1 to Celtic Glasgow, on May 31, 1972 in Rotterdam they succumb to Ajax 2-0 (Cruyff’s double). On May 22, 2010 in Madrid they win for the third time by beating Bayern Munich 2-0 with a double by Milito. Finally on June 10, 2023 the bitter night in Istanbul with 1-0 defeat against Manchester City.

PSPG is aiming for the triplete, having already won Ligue 1 and the French Cup, while Inter, on the other hand, is called upon to take home the only trophy of the season after second place in the league and defeats in the Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup, also against Milan.

Luis Enrique still has a doubt about the third striker: the choice is between Doué and Barcola alongside Denbélé and Kvaratshelia. Of course, Donnarumma will be in goal. Simone Inzaghi finally has all the starters available and the only real doubt is in defense between the recovered Pavard and Bisseck.

The likely lineups

PSG (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Nuno Mendes; Joao Neves, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz; Barcola, Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia. All: Luis Enrique.

INTER (3-5-2): Sommer; Pavard, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Lautaro Martinez. All: S. Inzaghi.
