Today Giro d’Italia number 108 is decided: the 20th stage, 205 km from Verres to Sestriere, is scheduled. It is the last call for whoever is able to oust the pink jersey, 21-year-old Mexican Isaac Del Toro. Tomorrow will be the epilogue with a circuit finish in Rome.

The riders passed through kilometer zero of today’s stage at 10:50 a.m. The stage, in addition to the uphill finish at Sestrere, also includes the Grands Prix de la Montagne at Corio, Colle del Lys and especially the Colle delle Finestre.

The stage is a mountain stage.

This climb is 18.2 km long with an average pemdence of 9.2 percent, but above all, the last 8 km are gravel and the summit is set at 2178 meters above sea level, which makes it the Cima Coppi of this Giro d’Italia, i.e., the highest mountain of the 2025 Corsa Rosa.

The Giro has already transited the Colle delle Finestre four times, always from the same side, that of Susa: in 2005 the first to reach the summit was Danilo Di Luca, in 2011 the Belarusian Vasil Kiryenka, in 2015 the Spaniard Mikel Landa and in 2018 the Briton, then winner of that Giro, Chris Froome.
